Ageing mechanisms
Work package manager: Prof Steve Swingler, University of Southampton, steve.swingler@soton.ac.uk
Key deliverables are:
- Identification of accelerated ageing as a result of new demands upon plant
- Enhanced knowledge of ageing of existing plant infrastructure
- Models of life expectancy and failure likelihood
- Models to enable the impact of environment (electrical and weather) and optimise plant utilisation and power flow, and to manage asset maintenance and replacement
- Data for plant replacement policy paradigms
- Identification of phenomena on which to base condition monitoring tools and interpret condition data in T&D plant
